The Aiken Hornets hosted their ‘Green vs White’ Spring game this past Thursday featuring the brand new, all yellow uniforms!

The green team led by Tanner Padgett came out with the 14-7 win despite the balanced performance from both squads. He connected with his brother, Hudson Padgett on multiple occasions which set them up for major red-zone success. On the white team led by Zoe Drummings, they struggled to move the ball a bit and relied mostly on defense to keep them close. Darius Walker had a huge impact on both sides of the ball racking up rushing yards and keeping the green team at bay with some crucial tackles. 

Zion Lewie had a few catches for the white team in his first year of playing receiver and also some big defensive plays. 

There’s a new swag emerging from Aiken’s new receiving core with the return of Allen Cummings, & brand new athletes like Armani Jones and CJ Bush. Alongside these new players they are being paired with Aiken’s all new wide receiver coach & former D1 athlete, KeShawn Toney.

This is the second spring game under new head coach Steve Hibbitts & the energy was incredible. We’re seeing a shift for Aiken Football and the community supporting them and we believe that they will be even more successful this year under this new energy & swagger.
