The Rise of Gray Kitchings

South Carolina’s top 5 Defensive Back in the class of 2027 has a huge summer ahead of him, with 13 camps to attend, including Newberry, the only college that has offered him so far. Gray is coming off a major junior season, where he recorded 66 tackles, 5 of which were TFLs, 3 sacks, and 1 pick-six out.

Going into his senior year, we can expect to see even more hunger and even more offers come his way to complement his hard work on and off the field. He is a major piece on Aiken’s defense and has the ability to break an offense with his pursuit and make crucial tackles when they are needed most. An underrated part of his game that isn’t talked about enough is how he can be a ball hawk, force the opposing QB to make decisions they aren’t comfortable with, and force other key players to adjust their play as well.

We’re excited to see what Gray has in store for us going into this senior season and how much of an impact he will have this time around for the Hornets.
